Ravenscraig Ltd is committed to ensuring existing Lanarkshire businesses benefit from the £1.2 billion regeneration of Ravenscraig. Presentations as part of the Construction Lanarkshire Initiative have already been held to give local firms the opportunity to discuss the opportunities available now that construction activity is under way.

The initial £10 million infrastructure project to create the spine road through the site and associated earthworks brought jobs and opportunities for 31 Lanarkshire companies. Some 65% of the workforce came from Lanarkshire and between 40 and 50% of the total spend on this pre construction phase went to local companies.

In the last decade Lanarkshire's local business growth rate has been double that of Scotland's as a whole.

Companies undertaking infrastructure or development works will be invited to enter into a Social Charter which seeks to encourage employment of local labour and use of local companies in sub-contracting and supply chain procurement.
