Ravenscraig will become a leading residential location with high quality, attractive housing featuring modern building designs.
Phase One will see over 800 family homes built adjacent to Carfin and Cleekhimin, with construction due to begin near the end of 2007 and the first houses likely to be completed in early 2008.
As part of the total development, some 3,500 new homes will be built providing housing for up to 10,000 people all with access to the latest telephone and broadband connectivity.
The initial phase will be led by David Wilson Homes, who will be developing a range of family homes with new house designs specifically developed for Ravenscraig. Ravenscraig ltd will set design and environmental guidelines to which all housebuilders will require to adhere. This is aimed at ensuring the highest standards in both areas are achieved.
Choice is very important and over the course of the project, people will be offered the widest possible range of housing to suit both their taste and budget. In addition, there will be provision of social and affordable housing.
A variety of house builders will contribute to the new Ravenscraig. Design guidelines will ensure developments are complementary and that the innovative, community friendly Ravenscraig is delivered.
